Jay Laird reports: "John's upcoming planned projects extend his love of 'forgotten mythologies', taking us into the realm of alternative fairy tales and the unheard tales of Johnny Appleseed." After months of refining the story with my daughter, I'm finally ready to begin working on my new comic. This story takes us into a mythic world where the retired hobo Johnny Appleseed lives in the wild lands and giants rule the industrial city of Jotunheim. Check out online preview and let me know what you think!

Bocephus,
"Forgotten" would not be my word of choice - Jay must have interviewed over a hundred creators, and summing it up was probably not so easy. I'm just flattered to be featured so close to the beginning of the article.
This project is just a runaway bedtime story with a couple of characters that have grown a little autonomous: Johnny Appleseed, Paul Bunyan and the Jotuns of Norse Myth, and an ancient race of toadstool people led by Havuh ["life-giver"]. The story of DIDDLUM DAY gives them a larger mythological context to explore, and we're having a lot of fun with it!
More announcements and sketches about this will be forthcoming shortly after I complete my exams.
